Author Interview With Erin Cristofoli

Hello, everyone! Today I am super excited to be interviewing Erin Debney Cristofoli. Erin is the author of Starting Over and Making It Through.  You all probably saw my book review for Making It Through and know I thought it was amazing. If you haven't, go check it out and remember to go show this amazing author some love. I’m going to step aside and allow Erin to take it away.
  1. When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?
I dreamed about being a writer as a kid, writing poetry and a short story series for my friends when I was a teen.
  1. How long does it take you to write a book?
My first book took 3 years.  I battled writer’s block.  My latest took just over a year.
  1. What genres of book are your favourite to write and which ones are your favourite to read?
I love romance in general.  I think I prefer to read and write contemporary romance, erotic romance, New Adult.
  1. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I tend to jump all over the book as scenes come to be, and then the fun is to make sure it all connects.
  1. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
If there is anything needing research, I try and search online for anything I am unsure about. For my new WIP, my PA had to help me with some information as for the first time I am writing about a location in the States.
  1. When did you write your first book and how old were you?
When I finished, I was 33.
  1. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love being creative.  I am a photographer, I play guitar, paint and crochet.
  1. What does your family think of your writing?
They are all very supportive of me and I couldn’t be more grateful.
  1. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
I was surprised by just how amazing the indie author world is. I was feeling overwhelmed with the entire publishing process and I reached out to many authors who were really gracious with their time.
I also learned that writer’s block is tough, and you need to find a way to just keep writing, whether it be on your current WIP, or something new, just to keep the creative juices flowing.
  1. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I have written two books, Starting Over and Making It Through.  I love them both for very different reasons.  I love Starting Over because it was my first book.  That was a huge accomplishment for me.  I love Making It Through because there is a lot of me in the story and it holds a special place in my heart.
  1. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? If so, what are they?
I am sure it’s said a lot, but just keep writing.  If you have a story to tell, you can do it, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.   Make sure you find some beta readers and a good editor.
  1. What do you think makes a good story?
I think strong character development and a storyline that flows.  I love when a story swallows me and I can feel myself in that world and feel the emotions as if they are my own.
  1. Do you have anything else you’d like to tell your readers?
I appreciate all my readers and followers.  I truly love the stories I write and I hope you do too
And to all readers really, please always consider leaving reviews. As a reader, I never used to.  I didn’t think I ever had much to say. But as an author, I see now how important it is.  I now review every book I read. I still suck at finding the right words, but even 2 lines is better than nothing.
~~
I was just wanting to thank Erin for allowing me to interview her. She is an amazing author and she defiantly knows how to write some amazing books. I encourage all of my viewers to check out Erin Cristofoli's books and give them some love! Thank you again, Erin. :)
